To whom is the specific medium risk training course addressed?
To all commercial, craft and service companies of an intellectual nature where there is the presence of employees or partner employers, whose sector risk is assessed as 'medium'.

Sanctions
In the event of a lack of training, the sanctions that the employer may incur range from a minimum of EUR 1,474 to a maximum of EUR 6,388.

What is the medium-risk safety training course in brief?
The course lasts 8 hours and presents the concepts of prevention and safety at work. At the end of the course, the employer will receive a certificate of attendance valid throughout Italy.

What can I do once I have completed the medium-risk training course?
The certificate can be requested during inspections by ASL technicians or labour inspectors.

According to Article 37 of Legislative Decree 81/08, the 8-hour specific employer training course is mandatory for all employers belonging to companies classified, according to their ATECO code, as medium risk. The medium risk course must be completed, together with the general training course, within 60 days from the date of employment.

According to the State-Regions Agreement of 21\12\11, deed no. 221/CSR the medium risk safety course provides training regarding possible damage and accidents in the workplace: the course will also cover the protection procedures to be used in the event of danger. Like the low risk course, the medium risk safety course does not include training in the use of work equipment and PPE.

The medium-risk safety course lasts 8 hours and presents the concepts of prevention and safety at work. Once you have purchased the service, you will receive an e-mail containing the dates of the various sessions and the links to the distance learning. Once you have completed the course, and filled in all the necessary documentation, you will receive a certificate of attendance on your e-mail with validity throughout Italy.

The certificate of attendance is only issued if the trainee has attended 90% of the training hours and passed the final examination. In order to maintain the validity of the certificate, the employer must take a 6-hour refresher course every 5 years.

Below are the categories of companies classified as medium risk according to the ATECO 2007 code:

  • Agriculture, forestry, logging, fishing and aquaculture (A, 01-02-03);
  • Transport, logistics and storage (H, 49-50-51- 52-53);
  • Public administration and defence. Compulsory social insurance (O, 84);
  • Education (P, 85);
  • Non-residential social assistance (Q, 88).
